Early Life and Education

Oshin Sitaula was born on July 28th, 1975, in Bungoma, Kenya. He spent his formative years in the village of Nambete, attending local schools before moving to Nairobi for his secondary education at St. Mary's School, Nairobi.

Sitaula pursued a Bachelor of Education degree at Kenyatta University, majoring in Kiswahili and English. His academic achievements opened doors for him within the education sector, where he taught for several years at different secondary schools in Kenya.

Political Career

Sitaula's passion for public service led him to venture into politics. In 2007, he successfully ran for the Member of Parliament (MP) seat for the Kapseret constituency under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.

During his tenure as MP, Sitaula actively participated in legislative debates and contributed to the development of his constituency. He served as a member of various parliamentary committees, including the Education Committee and the Finance Committee.

Journey to Cabinet Secretary

In 2018, President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed Sitaula as the Cabinet Secretary for ICT, Innovation, and Youth Affairs. As a Cabinet Secretary, Sitaula implemented key initiatives aimed at enhancing ICT adoption, fostering innovation, and empowering the youth through various programs.

Under his leadership, the ICT sector in Kenya experienced tremendous growth. He oversaw the implementation of the National Broadband Strategy, which led to the expansion of internet access across the country.

Age and Personal Life

As of 2023, Oshin Sitaula is 48 years old. He is married to Ann Sitaula, and they have two children. Sitaula is known for his charismatic and approachable personality, which has endeared him to many Kenyans.

Apart from his political pursuits, Sitaula is passionate about education and youth empowerment. He is the founder of the Oshin Sitaula Foundation, which supports underprivileged students and promotes leadership development among the youth.
