French Pole Vaulter Anthony Ammirati's Olympic Disappointment
Missed Out on Finals in Unorthodox Fashion
French athlete Anthony Ammirati had high hopes for the Summer 2024 Olympics in Paris. But unfortunately for the 21-year-old pole vaulter, his dreams were dashed in a rather unusual way.
Unorthodox Failure
Ammirati failed to reach the finals of the pole vault competition after colliding with the crossbar during the qualifying event. This bizarre incident left both the athlete and spectators stunned, as it's highly uncommon for a pole vaulter to miss a jump in such a way.
Despite the disappointment, Ammirati's fellow French athlete, Leon Marchand, brought some joy to the nation by winning his fourth swimming gold medal at the same Games.
